What if I'm not creative? Do we have to make art?
You probably are creative. We all are. And of course not. I never force art making. Our sessions are a collaboration and I will meet you were you are at on any given day.
What are Sessions like in person?
Sessions are collaborative and based on your needs. Art is always available for use. If you have an idea of something you want to create, let me know and Iโll make sure I have supplies stocked for you! If you need some guidance in the art making process Iโm happy to provide assistance. If you would rather talk, we can do that as well.
What are Sessions like Via Telehealth?
Sessions are still collaborative and based on your needs. Art making is an option, however, takes a little more planning on both ends. Creating art on both sides of the screen requires some collecting of materials before we show up to a session. Simple materials seem to work best.
Frequency, how often should I come?
This depends on what type of support you or your family needs. We can determine this together with the understanding that as treatment progresses the frequency may need to shift to support your needs.
Fees and Insurance Information
Awaken Art Therapy, LLC currently takes Aetna, BC/BS, PacificSource, Providence, and Regence Insurance
Initial Consults are free and last 15 minutes to mutually determine the best fit for working together. Please note that when using insurance I will need to assign a diagnosis (if and when deemed appropriate). This diagnosis can be part of one's permanent medical record.
Initial session $200, $175 for 60 minute session, $145 for 45 minute session
Out-of-Network: If I am not in-network with your insurance company. I can provide you with a Superbill for sessions and you can submit them to your insurance company. Please call your insurance company and ask how much they reimburse for mental health services with Licensed Professional Counselor. Also ask how many sessions they will reimburse you for. This allows you to make an informed decision about the cost of the services.
Sliding Scale: Sliding scale sessions are offered to clients experiencing financial hardship, please reach out if this is something you might need.
Cancellation Policy
Please cancel or reschedule 24-hours before scheduled session. Cancellations that fall within 24-hours of the appointment will be subject to pay the session fee.
Communication
Please communicate clinical matters in session or over the phone and not in email or text. Feel free to communicate about scheduling via email or phone.
